Artline Kazakhstan team proudly represented the country at the GT2 European Series round, held at the Misano racetrack in Italy, and achieved a magnificent victory.
The weekend started off great, thanks to the successful performances of our team's drivers in the qualifying sessions.
Shota Abkhazava finished his run in first place in the Pro-Am class, and Egor Orujiev completed his session in third, securing the team a start from pole position in their class and second overall.
The first race brought the well-deserved success to the team. Shota Abkhazava started first and confidently maintained the lead in his class and second overall until the pit stop sequence, during which the drivers swapped places.
At the 30-minute mark of the one-hour race, Egor Orujiev took over the wheel and performed brilliantly during his stint. He not only kept the lead in the class, but also, six minutes before the finish, launched a fierce attack on Philippe Prette in the Maserati from the AM class and took the race lead! In the final five laps, Egor extended the gap to second place to 3.5 seconds!
A fantastic victory! The flag of Kazakhstan was raised above the podium, and the national anthem rang out on the Italian Misano track.
